For this card I decided to do some partial embossing. This was achieved by slicing a square of white card diagonally and embossing just the left hand side before simply sticking the two parts back together, adding a strip of ribbon to cover the join. Leaves were stencilled, stamped and die cut and a simple die cut sentiment added. Different partially embossed results could be achieved by slicing the piece of card in various places - lots of variations possible.
Embossing Folder - came free with a magazine a while ago
Leaves - stencil, stamp and die set from Globleland
Birthday Sentiment - unbranded die
This is such a pretty card with the split design and what a great way to use that ribbon too!
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty and such an effective design.
ReplyDeleteHow effective Val, the Ginkgo leaves really pop against the white embossing.

This is so lovely, Val. The colours and the layout compliment each other perfectly. We have a tiny ginkgo tree in a pot in our garden, Jo x
ReplyDeleteLove the partial embossing and the fresh look of the card with the green leaves against the white. XXX
ReplyDeleteWhat a good idea! An easy way to get partial embossing, which is sometimes tricky to do on a machine, fab card Val xxx
