Snippets Challenge # 543

Homework time in the Pixie Snippets Playground with a new challenge for the next two weeks and  there is a super Christmas-themed prize for the lucky winner which should arrive in time to make cards for the coming Christmas.  Why not have a go, sort through your snippets to see what you can make.  You have to be in it to win it 😉

For my card this time I'm using another of the blank tags which were gifted to me by a generous friend and this one wasn't so blank because it had been cut from what was most likely a snippet of card which had been stencilled and colour washed using acrylic paint.  I stamped the silhouette flower using Clair twilight ink and heat embossed because this ink takes forever to dry over paint (if it dries at all) and then added a bit of texture stamping using an ancient and almost dry archival ink pad.  I then die cut a bird in  blue to match the back layer and a feather in white which I coloured using Distress ink to tone, edging with a little silver gilding wax.  The bird is perched on a snippet of card with silver texture (more later on that).  I rummaged in my pot of useful bits and found the 'time flies' piece and added.  I then decided to add this tag onto a white card blank with a small birthday sentiment. The bird and feather were cut from snippets of card.

The silver texture on the little snippet was achieved by adhering Stix 2 micro dots onto a snippet of white card and applying some silvery gilding flakes.

Tag - Taggletastic die Aall & Create
Floral Stamp - from Bee Crafty
Bird - Unbranded die
Harlequin Texture - stamp from Crafty Roo (no longer trading)
Sentiment - from a stamp/die set by Craft Addiction UK (Louise Dunne design)
Feather - die from The Works (been in my stash for years)

  3. A beautiful composition on your lovely tag. I usually heat emboss too when I think it might not dry!
