Leafy Inspiration

I was chatting online recently with a crafty friend and was reminded of some leaf dies which I've had for a while and I was inspired to dig them out for a play and at the same time I also found another set of leaf dies which I'd not used for a while either.  I pulled out some shaving foam technique card which I wasn't too keen on when I coloured it but kept anyway.  Decided to over stamp with some text and added a few splodges of gold ink (from a very old  clogged spray bottle) and then proceeded to cut out some leaves and also used scraps of kraft card as well. Sadly the gold doesn't show too well in the picture. I used my triptych die to cut out a shaped background in layers before adding the leaves and a tiny bow.  I thought this would probably be suitable as a masculine card and I will show the other one I made with a different set of leaves  another day - two masculine cards thanks to inspiration from a friend.  Thanks so much, you know who you are 😉

Christmas in June

Can it really be time for another Rudolph Days challenge?  Today's card uses a die set I've had since last Christmas and this is the first time it's been used.  The Elf in the die set is a silhouette one but I decided to cut it in three different colours so that I could chop and change after a bit of judicious snipping to make him into a coloured version.  The parcels were also built up using three different colours as well.  A piece of seasonal paper  which I've printed is the background although I don't recall the source - I really should make a note on the reverse of such pieces in case I want to print more.

Homework Time

There's a new challenge in the Snippets Playground and as usual a great prize and a super card as inspiration so why not sort through your Snippets to see what you can come up with.  Unusually for me, I've only used one of my white snippets for this card.  I actually had to cut into a whole sheet of card for the bottom layer but of course that's left me with quite a large snippet for another time 😉.  I started by cutting this piece slightly smaller than my card blank and then did some ink blending using two colours of Distress Oxide ink, finally adding some over stamping in grey.  Next move was to stamp the main image onto the background using Versafine Clair and again onto my snippet of white card so that I could fussy cut all of the circles.  Time now to assemble the card, adhering the fussy cut circles over the background image and adding a stamped sentiment.  That's it - my Snippets homework for the current challenge and I actually remembered to take a pic of the one white snippet used.
