Butterfly Challenge #150

The butterflies have had a short break over the Christmas time but they are back ready to challenge us again - read all about it HERE.  This time the letter of the alphabet is 'G'; the colours are Geranium (bright pink), Granny Smith (Green) and Gold.  The theme is gingham; style of card is a 'gap' card and of course at least one butterfly.  The gap card was a new one on me but luckily there is an excellent tutorial provided showing at least two ways of achieving this - the idea is to bridge a gap on the front of the card with something or other, either a large die cut word or maybe a shape of some sort.  For once I've managed to include all the elements - the gingham is on the inside of the card and you can just see it peeping through the 'Happy' word.  There is a die cut shape on the inside layer on which to write a message.  Why not take some butterflies out of hibernation and have a go - there are prizes πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰

PS - you will need to look closely to read the large word which shows up much more in real life - I will maybe take a photo of the open card when the light is better

Card - Melon Mambo from Stampin' Up
Gingham - diagonal gingham paper from Etsy download
Words - Happy and Birthday from separate Crafter's Companion die sets
Gold layer under butterflies - die from Tattered Lace
Butterflies - Papillon Potpourri stamp set from Stampin' Up - matching punches used

  7. I like these pretty butterflies, it's good to see them back. That was a good way to use the word die. I'm still working on my gap card, it's new to me too.
