A Hoot

Looking through a box of stamps for some inspiration I came across the set which included this quirky owl.  I seem to remember that at the time this was a definite 'must have' and to my shame it has probably languished out of sight for longer than I'd like to admit.  However I stamped and coloured this one and I must say I was a bit disappointed that the outline is rather thick but nothing to be done about that although I do wish it had been a much finer line. Nevertheless I did enjoy colouring it to while away part of a hot afternoon. Coloured with pencils and then trimmed into a rectangle - had intended using a shaped die but couldn't find one of suitable shape and/or size.  When putting the card together I thought it just needed an extra something so I die cut two feathers and added them along with a sentiment from a different stamp set.

Thankfully it seems to be rather cooler today after the wet day we had yesterday - gardens were badly in need of some rain even if it does make the grass grow!!

  2. Hi Val

A fun image .. .. and I love the colours you have used.

The die cut feathers make a great embellishment.

Funny how we have stash that fall in the "must have" bracket and then we forget they are there.

I often look back on my blog to remind myself of exactly what is lurking in both my physical and digital stash.

Much cooler here today too .. .. .. and yesterday's rain was very welcome as the lawns were going a bit brown and dry.

    Enjoy today!

    Love Jules xx
