Snippets Baubles

Well that's another week gone whizzing by and it is time to visit the Playground again and as always there is a great card made by Di and as usual a prize on offer for one lucky person whose name gets pulled out of the hat.  Apart from the background paper, everything else on this card is cut from bits and pieces of kraft card and paper.  The baubles die only cuts the filigree layer but luckily I managed to find a circle die of just the right size amongst my 'collection' so that I could back them with some gold.  A gold pen was used to draw the 'strings' and a couple of stray red gems added to the bows.  After struggling with adding glue to this very fine bauble die cut I wish I'd remembered to add some 'Stick-It' to the back of the card before cutting them out.

  3. Beautiful card Val and I know that bauble die only too well! It's a real beauty but tricky-woo to adhere onto a backing. One idea is to cover the card you're going to cut the solid circle from with adhesive sheet, peel off the protective layer once it's cut to size/shape and then stick the filigree bauble on top. I know, you're wondering about the exposed 'sticky' aren't you :) What I've done in the past is to then pour fine glitter over to fill in the exposed areas. Glamour Dust works well. I think I did it with the star shaped ornament which is part of the same set - ages ago now.

  4. Gorgeous bauble card and lucky you found a circle to fit. Have you seen the tip of putting glue on slither of card and touching to delicate diecut? Still tricky in my experience because I always seem to move it and then I still get glue everywhere xxx

  8. Lovely snippet card, Val. The layers of patterned paper and kraft card are beautiful and the baubles are gorgeous - well worth the effort, I'd say. Elizabeth xx
