Recycled Gift Bag

When I was making samples for  recent demonstrations of die cutting and embossing I had an idea for a gift bag and managed to incorporate a recycled bag which I received with some shopping a while ago (never throw anything out is my motto!!)  I embossed a panel large enough to cover the store logo and then decorated it using a selection of the Sue Wilson seasonal dies which were being promoted in the shop - they sold out!!  I see the corners of the bag are a bit creased by handling but I'm sure I can get the iron out to flatten it.  I've taken pictures of some of the other items I made and they might appear here in due course.

Background - Hessian pattern embossing folder
Flowers - Sue Wilson Mosaic poinsettia dies and matching plain dies
Twigs and greenery - Sue Wilson Pine Bough set of dies
Greeting - Freebie Christmas stamp on die cut tag shape

  1. Absolutely Stunning Val. Love those poinsettias. Hugs Rita xxx

  4. smashing bag Val - really like those twig and pine dies, look very useful ones

  5. Beautiful bag Val and I bought those very dies at Ally Pally on Saturday! Someone was complaining that they didnt't very well, have you had any problems? I've not tried them out yet :)

    1. I presume you meant that people said these dies didn't cut too well. I found that the intricate ones sometimes need a couple of passes through the machine (turning through 90 degrees for second pass). I think the weight or density of the card causes problems with some intricate dies but somehow I find that the more they are used the better they seem to perform. Enjoy!

  6. Love those poinsettias, the hessian embossing folder is very desirable!
